Meta Tags
Node Words or Meta Tags Module for Drupal 5
Drupal has great search engine optimizations built in, with it's clean urls and renaming of paths. But one thing it is missing is Meta Tags.
Meta Tags are little bits of information that is put into the header of an HTML page. These tags include description, keywords, and title. Google, Yahoo!, and other major search engines use these tags for ranking. This means if you have proper meta tags, your web page may be placed higher in organic searches.
So how do you get meta tags in your Drupal site? With a third party module called Nodewords. This module places the proper meta tags in your Drupal site and actually fills them in with text. These tags include description, keywords, and title, among others.
Once installed you will have a new settings in your content management section. This is called Meta Tags. This can be confusing as the module is called Nodewords... so don't look for Nodewords settings, look for Meta Tags once the module is installed.
Another note of interest, on the download page from Drupal.org, the module is called Meta Tags, but when you download it, you will have a module called Nodewords. The naming can be confusing unfortunately as this module is known by two different names.
